Monovisc is an injectable viscosupplement designed to treat joint pain caused by osteoarthritis. In osteoarthritis, the natural amount of hyaluronic acid decreases, leading to pain and stiffness in the joints. Monovisc contains 88 mg of hyaluronic acid in a gel form, which, when injected, acts as a lubricant and pain reliever. The single-injection treatment provides immediate pain relief, with effects lasting up to 6 months. The package includes a 4 mL syringe containing partially cross-linked sodium hyaluronate.
