CINGAL® is a unique combination of cross-linked hyaluronic acid and triamcinolone hexacetonide designed to safely and effectively treat the pain and certain symptoms associated with osteoarthritis. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance produced by the body. The chemical is normally found in high amounts in the joint tissue and in the fluid that encircles the joints. In cases of osteoarthritis, the amount of natural HA is reduced and the quality may be poorer than normal, which causes irritation and inflammation, pain and stiffness in the joints. CINGAL® adds HA to the joints where it acts as a lubricant and shock absorber, while the triamcinolone hexacetonide reduces the inflammation. CINGAL® only requires a single injection to achieve fast acting and long lasting pain relief.
